Denise Richards is one scary Pussycat Doll

DENISE RICHARDS was in Las Vegas Friday night prancing around with those saucy "Pussycat Dolls" -- and ET's JANN CARL was with her for a revealing new interview, airing on tonight's ET! She said "I was always a people pleaser and I just finally got to the point in my life after having my daughters and going through a really ugly divorce ... I've just gotten to the point where life is so short and I just want to be happy." Following her new mantra, Denise was happy to play MC for the sizzling dance troupe as they celebrated the Pussycat Dolls Lounge's one-year anniversary at Caesars Palace, with resident record-spinner DJ AM providing the musical sound at PURE nightclub. "It's fantasy, it's costumes, it's fun. I'm excited," she said before the show. The gorgeous actress has been under more than her fair share of the media glare this year, first due to her divorce proceedings with CHARLIE SHEEN, and most recently due to her reported romance with rocker RICHIE SAMBORA -- who split earlier this year from Denise's former friend HEATHER LOCKLEAR. Denise says that her new relationship was the "last thing I was looking for," adding, "it's true when they say things happen when you least expect it." She confesses that dealing with the rumors hasn't been easy, "The thing with Heather, that's been hard ... you know you can't help who you fall for and that friendship, unfortunately, was done and wasn't salvageable." She says, "People have gone on ... would you date your best friend ['s husband]? You know she wasn't my best friend. She was a close friend in the last couple of years -- I hadn't known her my whole life [like] people [are] portraying this." She finishes, "[It's] been tough having people think that I'm such a crappy friend -- because if we were friends I wouldn't be in this situation." On rumors that she and Richie got together before their respective marriages were kaput, Denise says, "I get why people have been hurt in this situation -- you know, it's not good but it is what it is." But she stresses that both her and Richie's former relationships were over before they got together: "We didn't meddle in marriages and anything like that." As for her marriage to Charlie, Denise originally filed for divorce on March 2, 2005, but the two reconciled for a short time later in the year. Last January, they decided to continue with divorce plans. Just last week, the court extended a restraining order Denise filed against Charlie back in April, which included numerous allegations against him. Charlie has called her claims a "heinous document of fiction," but for now, the actor must stay 300 yards away from Denise and their two daughters, SAM and LOLA, except during supervised visits with the children. Regarding the allegations made in court papers, Denise says, "Unfortunately the thing with Charlie and I -- that was a court document that became public. I didn't hand it to a tabloid and say, 'Here, print this.' And it's sad, and it's horrible that it's gotten to the point that it's gotten to." Denise says that she's just taking it one day at a time these days, and that "between getting a divorce and all the tabloid stuff and now my mom being ill, it's just too much -- so I'm just enjoying the moment, enjoying what's great in life." She did say that she was happy for BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE when they had their daughter SHILOH, but for a unique reason, "I was so thankful that Angelina had that baby... I'm like, 'Please have that baby so it takes [the focus] away from us!'" [ET]

Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana, have welcomed a baby girl named Isabella, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. "The baby is here. Isabella arrived yesterday," Damon's brother Kyle told PEOPLE on Monday. "Mother and Isabella are doing fine," Damon's rep Jennifer Allen, confirmed to PEOPLE. "The family is very happy and everyone's healthy." This is the first child for the couple. Luciana also has a daughter, Alexia, from a previous marriage. "He's a terrific uncle and he's going to be a wonderful father," Kyle said of his brother, Matt. "Thankfully, Lucy has some experience, so that will help. Alexia is a terrific girl. They're all really close, they'll be an intimate family." [People]

Grammy awards winner and Destiny's Child Beyonce Knowles is currently looking for an all girl band for her tour in support of her "B'Day" album due to be released on the 4th of September. Knowles is looking for drummers, keyboard players, bassists, guitarists, horn players and percussionists who must be 18 years or older and can play "Work It Out" as performed on her "Beyonce: Live at Wembley" DVD. Local Auditions will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, Chicago, Illinois, Houston, Texas, Burbank, California, and Weehawken, New Jersey on Monday. Then finalists will travel to New York and audition for her and start work by the 20th of June. [Short News]

Even if Elle doesn't, there's no denying the critics' response — after all, The New York Times' Stephen Holden called her "talent-challenged." "He doesn't really fit the demographic," Duff replied. Angelina Jolie has recorded a television message for World Refugee Day, said the United Nations refugee agency, quoted by news.ninemsn.com.au. The appeal was recorded by Jolie, goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in April in Namibia, before her daughter with Brad Pitt, Shiloh, was born on May 27. "I'm Angelina Jolie. For the millions of displaced persons around the world, please help keep their hope alive and remember World Refugee Day," the American actress, sporting a tank-top and light-brown headscarf, says in a brief message. After months spent denying they were in a relationship while promoting a film about a break-up, Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn were finally pictured together yesterday. The celebrity couple were photographed in Paris while they watched Spain's Rafael Nadal blast his way to a four-set victory over Swiss Roger Federer during the final of the French tennis Open. But it was a different story last week when the pair, who co-star in The Break-Up, flew into Sydney for the film's premiere. Both actors went to great lengths to avoid being seen together. Denise Richards arrived at LAX yesterday sporting a ring on her left ring finger, leaving everyone wondering if she and her boyfriend, Richie Sambora, are engaged. Richards, who is in the middle of a bitter divorce from Charlie Sheen, flew in from France after spending time with Sambora while he's on tour with Bon Jovi. Sambora is also in the middle of divorce from Heather Locklear - Richards' former best friend.Don't get too excited, however, sources tell TMZ she is not engaged. But this could possibly be a foreshadowing of what's to come once all the divorces are finalized.... only time will tell. Brangelina bodyguard in trouble?

Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's chief bodyguard, Irish-born Mickey Brett, faces legal action in Namibia, where they had their first child, on charges of assaulting a restaurant owner. According to accuser Theuns Duvenhage's lawyer, Piet Burger, Brett will be summoned before a Namibian court for allegedly beating up Duvenhage and damaging his eye. AFP report that in his complaint, Duvenhage says he was shooed off from an area where the Hollywood stars were present by the bodyguards but admitted making an "offending sign" before driving off. Duvenhage, who is claiming 60,000 Namibian dollars (8,912 dollars/ 7,057 euros) in damages, says Brett gave chase, forced his car off the road and then hit, kicked and punched him. Meanwhile, Jolie and Pitt became the parents of their first biological child, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, on May 27 in Namibia, where the alleged high-handed behavior of their bodyguards has been the subject of considerable controversy. Kate Beckinsale spent nine hours getting the perfect haircut before going to the MTV Movie Awards. The 'Underworld' actress spent the enormous amount of time ensuring she looked her best for the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday (03.06.0.06). Beckinsale arrived at a leading salon at 11am and did not leave until after 8pm. The British actress, who presented an award at the event, broke up the marathon preening session with regular cigarette breaks. First came the sightings, then the rumors. Now a source close to the two finally confirms it: Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy are indeed a couple. "They are very happy," the source tells PEOPLE. But even though the pair was spotted at an L.A. restaurant last month, don't think they're going public. When McCarthy, 33, was asked recently on The View if she was dating a "well-known comedian who makes funny faces," she replied, "No comment. Does that ever work?" It looks like the Newlyweds are to be Newlydivorced: a new reports claims Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey will be officially divorced in less than ten days. The couple split in November after three years of marriage and according to a source quoted in Life & Style Weekly, the divorce will be finalised on 17th June. The magazine also notes that Nick wanted a trial separation or counselling but it was Jessica who pushed to file for divorce. Since the split, Nick has been linked to a number of different women but according to Star magazine, Jessica is finding it tougher to find love. An inside source has revealed: “Jessica’s learning that most men aren’t as commitment as Nick was.” “She’s seen that there aren’t many eligible men who are serious boyfriend material. R&B singing sensation Mariah Carey is launching her new world tour, 'The Adventures of Mimi', and flaunting her new, slimmer shape - and she credits her 'Morsel Diet', according to a published report. The once chubby singer went on the diet, and to speed things along, she underwent an exercise regime with her fitness trainer and performed water aerobics. Mariah explains, "I kind of invented it. Basically you can have a tiny bit of everything you want." "When I'm really, really hungry I'll be like 'I need a morsel!'" Nicolette is being sued!

Nicollette Sheridan's former manager filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the actress, claiming that Sheridan owes him 10% of her 'Desperate Housewives' proceeds. In the suit, filed Thursday in LA Superior Court, manager Rob Lee claims that Sheridan wouldn't even have taken her career-changing role if it wasn't for him. Lee says Sheridan's career was flagging when she hired him in 2003. Early the next year, he said she auditioned for the 'Desperate Housewives' role, but decided she didn't want to return for the callback. Lee says in the lawsuit that he issued an ultimatum to Sheridan: either go back for a callback for the role or find another manager. Lee claims that Sheridan dumped him in November 2004 -- after the TV show became a hit -- and has since not paid him the 10% of her earnings that he is owed. The lawsuit doesn't tally up the total owed to Lee. A spokesperson for Sheridan couldn't be reached. [TMZ]

For ex-M.I.T. student James Woods, the best revenge is the Revenge of the Nerd. "This is my whole entourage right here," the 59-year-old Woods told Lowdown at Wednesday's "Entourage" premiere, gripping his bodacious 20-year-old girlfriend, Ashley Madison, nee Myrick, apparently the daughter of one of Woods' golfing buddies. "That's it!" Woods added, laughing on the red carpet at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. "What more do I need?" Good point. Ashley, whose low-cut halter top offered an ample view, was buoyant in more ways than one. "It was my birthday yesterday!" she gushed with cheerleader enthusiasm. "I've never gotten so many presents!" Gazing moonily at Woods - whose formerly gray hair has turned a very dark brown - Ashley added: "I can't believe he did that for me! It was unbelievable! Family Brangelina set to return to Malibu?

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their three children will be moving back to Malibu, and the word is they're coming this weekend. The $9 million Malibu estate has been buzzing with workers this week. They're finishing off the security system, which includes an elaborate set of cameras pointing in every direction. Most telling, TMZ is told that yesterday a white van arrived at the house and delivered a "massive amount of liquor." As one eyewitness says, it was: "magnums of everything." The word from the crew is that the famous couple and their kids are arriving this weekend. A cleaning crew has been working feverishly this week and construction workers have been there seven days a week. As one eyewitness tells TMZ, the entire house is set up for kids. Before the couple left for Namibia, the tennis court was tented and converted into a giant playroom -- especially for Maddox's 4-wheel toys. The party tent was taken down after they left, but this week it was put back up. As for accommodations in the four bedroom house, Brad and Angelina have the master suite, and each uses a bedroom for an office. That leaves one bedroom left for Maddox, Zahara and baby Shiloh. We're told there is baby furniture in that fourth room, but the word is that Shiloh will sleep in the master suite with Brad and Angelina. The joke at the house is that all of Brads expensive art is now up, along with his other pricey furnishings and everyone there "is wondering what he's going to do when the kids start destroying it." We're told there will be a heavy presence of guards 24/7, but there's still a problem. It's a glass house -- literally -- and the paparazzi have a clean view from the ocean, where they often kayak. A solution to this issue has not been figured out yet. A few days ago, a construction worker at Pitt's estate in the East Hollywood Hills became ill, and the paparazzi showed up with the ambulance. One member of the construction crew told TMZ it was obvious the paparazzi were monitoring emergency frequencies and launched when they heard the address. We're told the Jolie-Pitts plan to eventually make the East Hollywood estate their primary residence, but it's nowhere near complete. The kitchen, for one, is still being designed. [TMZ]

Lindsay Lohan feels like the man when she falls in love, because she can't stay faithful to her partner. The star insists she's too young and has too many crushes to settle down with just one guy. She says in an interview in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar, "I've become like the guy in relationships. Lately I just cannot be in a monogamous relationship. But there are people I want to date." Lohan's crush on Harry Judd, of the British band McFly, has prompted her to consider a move to London. [SFC]

TMZ has learned exclusively that the mystery man who has been at Britney Spears' side isn't a "manny," isn't single, and might actually know less about raising kids than Britney herself. Britney's hitherto mysterious companion is Perry Taylor, a 28-year-old Naval Academy graduate who played on Navy's lacrosse team and who grew up and went to high school in the Washington, D.C., area. What's more, quelling rumors that Perry may be taking the place of K-Fed, Perry's mom, Caroline, tells TMZ her son is living with a six-foot brunette (she's Perry's height) and that she's been his girlfriend for two years. Perry's mom calls the girlfriend "a bombshell" and coos she's "the best girl he's ever been with. They're really happy." Perry and his paramour moved to the West Coast so that Perry could pursue a career in private security. The All-American kid, who graduated from the Academy in 2000, wanted to work in security in Iraq and Afghanistan but, says his mom, "the women in his life talked him out of it." He got his current gig working for a security company, and, according to his mother, worked for another blonde celeb, whom she wouldn't name. Mom says she had never even heard of Britney Spears until her son started working for her. And if there was any question about whether he was helping out with the Sean Preston diaper detail, his mother told TMZ that the answer's pretty clear: "He's just beginning to learn about babies," she says, adding that not too long ago he asked a friend of his how old babies have to be before they open their eyes. Finally, if dealing with unruly and slightly reptilian elements in Hollywood is an issue, Perry has experience: His mother says he once crawled out of a window of his house at 14 months and was found near a pond, and that he kept a pet python at the Naval Academy that ended up living at her house. John O'Hurley, wife expecting!

Television actor John O'Hurley announced that he and his wife, Lisa, are expecting their first child. They married in 2004. O'Hurley, 51, is known for his role as catalog king J. Peterman on the long-running "Seinfeld" television sitcom. He also won a championship last October on "Dancing With the Stars," in which celebrities are paired with professional dancers and compete against one another in choreographed performances. O'Hurley triumphed in a viewer-judged rematch after losing in the previous season's finale several months earlier. [AP]

Britney Spears has reportedly taken the first step towards a new life without hubby Kevin Federline by signing preliminary divorce papers. A source close to the Toxic singer said that the princess of pop had already started meeting her lawyers to work out the terms of the divorce. Netflix is getting ready to distribute a new film called Sherrybaby…and not by mail. Daily Variety reports the company has made a distribution deal with the producers of the Maggie Gyllenhaal picture to distribute it theatrically, as well as in home video, and it's partnering with IFC to get the movie into the theatres. Netflix is making a more aggressive move into theatrical distribution after hiring Bahman Naragi, formerly of Miramax and Intermedia, to handle that part of the business. Netflix is not looking for boffo box office with Sherrybaby. Instead, it considers the theatrical push as a "promotional platform that will put the film on critics maps and create awareness," according to Naragi. The film ran at Sundance. According to locals in this small corner of Herefordshire, the neo-Georgian manor house planned for this site is to be Prince William's new home after he marries. As speculation grows in society circles that William will announce his engagement to long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton at the end of his Sandhurst training in six months' time, many in the Wye Valley have no such doubts. 'This estate is for William and his wife,' said one. 'We all know it and it will be perfect for them.' There is little doubt that something special is happening on the 900-acre estate in prime countryside between Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye. The blonde socialite, who once wanted a breast enlargement to boost her modest assets before changing her mind, doesn't want to go under the surgeon's knife because she doesn't want to be accused of being fake. She said: "I don't need it and I would never get it. It's gross - and it always ends up looking really fake. But if a girl is miserable and that's the only way to make her happy, then that's fine." Paris recently revealed she decided against having a boob job after her dad told her it was sleazy. The hotel heiress admitted she begged her parents to pay for the operation before her father, Rick, dissuaded her. With questions looming about her parenting skills, and reports circulating that her husband has walked out on her, Britney Spears has found a new man in her life: her newest staff member, a male nanny. The 24-year-old pop star has reportedly hired the male nanny, or "manny" as Hollywood observers are calling him, to carry out such tasks as lugging around her eight-month-old baby Sean Preston, unload the shopping and wheeling the pram. According to the Daily Mail report, the male nanny, named Perry, is also a trained bodyguard and more than capable of fending off Britney's ever-present following of photographers. After almost dropping her baby Sean Preston on the pavement two weeks ago when she tripped in platform shoes, Britney Spears took Perry on amid intense speculation over her ability to be a good mother. For those who are still worried about such things, Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton are squawking at each other again. This time, it's not in the tabloids or celebrity mags, but in their T-V show "The Simple Life." The show returns Sunday night on E!. While the two stars don't talk about what's behind their feud, they do refer to each other in less-than-flattering terms. Hilton says she and Richie are "complete opposites," and that she is "the nice one," while her former pal is "the evil one." Richie says there's no big deal as far as Hilton is concerned. That's because it turns out the Vince Vaughn-Jennifer Aniston comedy that had been tracking less than satisfactorily -- and reviewed even worse, prompting all those showbiz cynics to ask whether Jen can really be a movie star -- is a hit at the box office this weekend. My sources are telling me early numbers say The Break-Up opened with a domestic take of $13.7 million Friday, which is prompting the studio to revise upwards their initial weekend opening estimate of $28 mil to a new estimated total of $38 mil. Who'd a thunk it! For this comedy especially nowadays, that's much more than respectable; that's a miracle. Either Jen has developed a film fanbase, or else Vince is packing 'em in. But I think America is just starved for comedy, any comedy, even a half-baked not-really-satisfying bickering-Bickersons comedy. And Uni's lethal marketing department brought it to audiences in the right away. It's Uni's biggest opening for '06 and the industry's highest-grossing romantic comedy for the opening weekend in the month of June. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered a man accused of stalking actress Sandra Bullock to stay at least 200 feet away from her through June 2009. The original 2003 order issued against Thomas James Weldon, 37, was due to expire Monday. Judge Marion Johnson Wednesday granted Bullock's request to extend it three more years, Zap2it.com reported. Weldon voluntarily entered the Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute in Nashville in 2003 and is being considered for a furlough. Before Weldon entered the facility, Bullock reported he followed her from Michigan to Texas to California and bombarded her with phone calls, faxes and e-mails. "I have not been informed nor received any indication that the defendant recognizes that his fixation on me is delusional and that he will not resume stalking and harassing me, members of my family and employees of Fortis Films Inc. when and if he is released," Bullock said in her extension request. The movie follows a junkyard worker (Black) who attempts to sabotage a power plant that he believes is melting his brain. But his plan goes awry and the magnetic field he creates erases all of the videotapes in the local video store where his best friend works. Fearing that the mishap will cost his friend his job, the two team to keep the store's only loyal customer -- a little old lady with a tenuous grasp on reality -- from realizing what has happened by re-creating and refilming every movie that she decides to rent. The project is scheduled to start shooting in late September. Dunst previously worked for Gondry in 2004's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. All one had to do was watch the dancing crowd loving Madonna at San Jose's HP Pavilion on Tuesday night. No, the problem with disco was that it got so fun, there was just way, way WAY too much of it. Which takes us to Madonna's "Confessions" tour, which pulled into HP Pavilion Tuesday night for the first of two shows. A Madonna concert is usually one curveball after another; a big, well-planned production peppered with thoughtful moments. The mix of material is usually enough for old and new fans alike. There's enough tongue-in-cheek humor to soften the indulgences in ego. It's usually an excellent concert by someone who's almost never accused of being boring. Tuesday got boring, ironically because Madonna was working so hard to not be boring. Tuesday wasn't a concert. It was a loud, throbbing disco party, with Madonna as the centerpiece in the pink-purple Olivia Newton John "Let's Get Physical" leotard. Maybe boring isn't the right word. Madonna to model for H&M?

US pop queen MADONNA could be the latest of a string of celebrities to pose as a model for Swedish low-cost fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz (H and M). Swedish newspaper Expressen said yesterday that Madonna was in negotiations with the company. "She's a superstar, a style icon - and controversial. Now Madonna could be H and M's next clothing model," the paper said. The retailer announced earlier this month that Dutch designer duo VIKTOR and ROLF would create a special collection for H and M this autumn, to be launched in November. [Daily News and Pics]

Nicole gets violent on set

Bette Midler has laughed off reports she will be the wedding singer at Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman's nuptials, despite admitting she has been invited. The singer/actress insists recent reports Kidman will wed country singer Urban next month are unfounded because the ceremony is much later. The New Zealand-born hitmaker and Kidman, both 38, announced their engagement last week after a 10-month courtship. British newspaper The Sun claimed Midler has been asked to sing her hit "Wind Beneath My Wings" at the ceremony, which has been rumored to be taking place in Sydney, Australia, or Nashville, Tennessee. Nicky to open hotel chain?

Not content with making handbags and clothes for her Chick by Nicky Hilton line, Paris's sister Nicky is thinking of getting into the hotel game. Nicky is planning her own boutique hotel line. The NY Daily News reported that the hotel heiress has been in talks with promoter and former Madonna gal pal Ingrid Casares and interior decorator Faye Resnick. Hilton's manager, Paul Fisher has said that she is checking out locations in Miami, Chicago and San Francisco. Given that Nicky's fashion designs are generally glittery T-shirts, hoodies and sweatpants it will be interesting to see what her visions for a hotel are. [Luxist]
